Integrated Proximity Measurement

The PROXPAC XL design places the 3300 XL Proximitor sensor in the housing cover, creating a self-contained proximity probe system. The arrangement removes the extension cable between the probe and its associated Proximitor sensor, while field wiring runs directly between the monitor and the PROXPAC XL assembly.

This assembly belongs to the Bently Nevada proximity measurement family used for machinery condition monitoring and protection. Its 3300 XL 8 mm sensing chain provides static and dynamic proximity measurement for monitored rotating machinery.

• Used where a protected, self-contained proximity transducer arrangement is required at the measurement point.
• A relevant search item when a machinery monitoring channel develops abnormal vibration, displacement or proximity-signal readings.
• A replacement investigation may be triggered by loss of signal, unstable measurement, incorrect gap-related output or physical damage around the probe/housing.
• For critical rotating equipment, an unavailable or unreliable proximity measurement can reduce the monitoring channel's ability to provide condition information and may contribute to extended troubleshooting or an unplanned maintenance window.

The 50 mm standoff and 50 mm penetration must match the intended mechanical geometry. For penetration lengths between 25 and 50 mm, the manufacturer notes that a counterbore may be required in the machine case to reduce probe side-view or rear-view effects.
