Hardware Compatibility
This I/O module is specifically designed for use with the 3500/42M Proximitor Seismic Monitor. It acts as the physical termination point for field wiring, bridging the gap between external transducers and the internal 3500 backplane logic.
Excitation Rails
The unit provides a stabilized -24V DC probe excitation with a current draw of 4-20 mA. It is critical to ensure that field-side cabling resistance doesn't induce a voltage drop that pulls the excitation out of the required Proximitor tolerance, as this will trigger a "Channel Not OK" status.
Dynamic Range
For seismic applications, the I/O handles an acceleration range of 0-10 g RMS. Signal clipping may occur if the peak-to-peak vibration exceeds the digitized headroom of the 42M monitor, so proper gain scaling in the 3500 Rack Configuration Software is mandatory.
