GE IC697ALG440 Current Expander Module
Module Functionality & Specifications
Primary Function: Provides 16 current input channels with 4-20 mA input range and converts digital signals into analog form in 2's complement format.
System Requirements: Must be used with a base converter module and optionally with a voltage expander to form a complete analog input subsystem.
Connection Terminals: Terminals 36 and 38 of the base converter module are designated for analog expansion signal connections. Terminals 37 and 39 are available for differential data bus or serial communication.
Cable Shielding: Optional shielding available. When implemented, the shield ground should be connected to terminal 35. Proper polarity must be observed during all connections.
Installation Requirements: Must be installed in the same rack as connected expander modules, with all modules physically adjacent for optimal system performance.
Diagnostic Features: Comprehensive monitoring capabilities including status LEDs, error detection facilities, channel response monitoring, and health diagnostics for enhanced system reliability.
