- PLC-2, PLC-5, and SLC family processors
- PLC-3 family programmable controllers
Required Scanner Modules
- PLC-3 Integration: Requires 1775-S5 or -SR5 scanner module
- SLC Integration: Requires 1747-SN scanner module
- Prohibited Hardware: 1775-SR, -S4A, or -S4B scanner modules are not compatible
Zero-Crossing AC Output Technology
Certain 1791 AC output modules utilize advanced zero-crossing technology:
- Enables output turn-on when voltage is below specified levels (typically 40-50V)
- Significantly reduces stress on contacts and current surge-sensitive devices
Load Circuit Requirements
For output modules with zero-crossing technology in specific circuit configurations:
- Required when device includes a single diode in series with the load
- Must place a shunt resistor across the load
- Resistor ensures proper output turn-on functionality
