Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 1746-ITV16 is an SLC 500 discrete input module designed as a high-speed input module operating at a voltage range of 10-30 VDC, with a nominal input voltage of 24VDC. It supports source wiring configuration and is ideal for signaling devices that operate with high frequency, binary, or ON/OFF switching, such as encoders, totalizers, data loggers, counters, and similar devices. The module can also be used for position monitoring and control of conveyors.
The 1746-ITV16 offers fast ON and OFF signal transitions. The maximum ON signal delay is 0.3 ms, while the OFF delay has a transition time of 0.50 ms. Typically, the ON transition delay is 0.1 ms, and the OFF transition delay is 0.25 ms at 24VDC operation. The module has a single group of inputs without individual channel isolation. It draws 85 mA from the backplane at 5VDC and 0 mA at 24VDC, with a maximum OFF state voltage input of 5VDC and maximum OFF state current input of 1.5 mA. The nominal input current is 8 mA at 24VDC, and it comes with a removable terminal block for simplified wiring and maintenance.
With a maximum power dissipation of 3.6 W, the 1746-ITV16 is suitable for time-critical applications requiring rapid response. The module receives and stores data in its data image table, accessible by all modular and fixed SLC 500 processors. It also includes filter circuitry and optical coupling for signal noise reduction. Input values can be read by SLC 500 processors using Ladder Logic, and troubleshooting is made easy through LED indicators that show input status. The module is designed to operate in environments with temperatures from 0-60 °C (32-140 °F) and 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity.
