Product Description
FOXBORO FBM207B Voltage Monitor
Foxboro FBM207B 16-channel Galvanically Isolated Voltage Monitor with Redundant Pair Configuration 0
Discrete inputs can be sensed across all the usual voltage levels found in industrial facilities. The FBM207/b/c uses one of several termination assemblies to match the externally powered voltage level. In cases where the inputs are integral to the plant's control scheme, the FBM207/b/c may be installed as a redundant pair, with standard control blocks used to manage the redundancy.
The FBM207/b/c Voltage Monitor/Contact Sense Input Module functions as a 16-channel DC voltage monitor or 16-channel contact sensor. Each channel accepts a 2-wire input from a DC voltage source (FBM207) or a pair of contacts or solid-state switches (FBM207b/FBM207c).
Associated termination assemblies (TAs) support discrete input signals at voltages of 60 V DC, 120 V AC/125 V DC, or 240 V AC. For voltages higher than 60 V DC, the TAs include additional signal conditioning hardware that provides voltage attenuation and optical isolation.

Precision Discrete Input Handling
  • Each input is galvanically isolated from other channels and ground
  • Inputs can be group-isolated when used with external excitation
  • Performs signal conversion from field sensors to the redundant Fieldbus module
  • Executes programs for: Discrete Input, Ladder Logic, Pulse Count, Sequence of Events
  • Configurable Input Filter Time for process-specific needs
Flexible Operation: Single or Redundant
  • Can function as a single module or a redundant pair
  • Redundant setup provides Fieldbus-level redundancy
  • Inputs received from a single common termination assembly via a redundant adapter
  • Input current is doubled to maintain redundancy
  • Redundant digital input block in Foxboro DCS validates inputs, selecting the highest-quality signal
Enhanced Reliability and Redundancy
  • Contact sense power is diode OR'd in the redundant adapter for continuous power
  • Uses CINR function blocks to manage input reads and initialization logic
  • During each execution cycle, identical reads are sent to both modules, fully exercising Fieldbus communication and logic circuits
  • Ensures reliable performance, accurate input monitoring, and robust system integration

"I have different voltage levels in my plant (60V DC, 120V AC, etc.). Can this module handle them?"
Yes, but you need the right match. The FBM207 itself is the brain, but it relies on Termination Assemblies (TAs) to handle the heavy lifting.
Low Voltage? No problem.
High Voltage? (Like 120V AC/DC or 240V AC) The TA handles the signal conditioning and optical isolation for you.
"FBM207, 207b, 207c... Which one do I actually need?"
It depends on what you are connecting to:
FBM207: Go for this if you are monitoring DC Voltage sources.
FBM207b / FBM207c: Grab these if you are sensing Contacts or Solid-State Switches.
All of them give you 16 channels to play with.
"My process is critical. Can I run these in redundancy?"
Absolutely. You can install them as a redundant pair. They share a common TA via a redundant adapter. If one module trips, the Foxboro DCS (using the CINR block) automatically picks the highest-quality signal. No downtime.
"Does it do any logic processing, or is it just a dumb input card?"
It's smart. It handles Ladder Logic, Pulse Counts, and even Sequence of Events (SOE) right on the module. You can also configure the input filter time to ignore noise.

The Amikon Difference
Most companies just ship you a box and wish you luck. We don't do that.
Here is the Amikon difference:
  • Real Humans, Real Engineering: Our team digs deep into your specific setup. We don't just read scripts; we solve problems.
  • Long-Term Thinking: We don't just patch the leak; we upgrade the whole plumbing so you're ready for next year, not just tomorrow.
  • We Stick Around: From the first phone call to years of maintenance, we aren't going anywhere.
That's why our clients stay with us—we make their lives easier. Simple as that.
