The Foxboro P0926JMA is a specialized 8-position baseplate designed for the I/A Series Fieldbus Module (FBM) subsystem. It provides the physical mounting plane and backplane connectivity for up to eight FBMs, functioning as a passive interface between the modules and the Fieldbus Communications Processor (FCP). The unit is built for DIN rail installation, supporting both horizontal and vertical mounting orientations to maximize cabinet density. It serves as the primary conduit for the Module Fieldbus, enabling high-speed data exchange across the FBM-to-FCP link.
Electrical reliability is managed through dual-redundant 24V DC power input terminals. This dual-feed architecture ensures that a single power supply failure does not compromise the entire 8-slot assembly. Internal power bus traces distribute both logic-level and field-side excitation to each FBM slot, utilizing isolated signal paths to prevent cross-channel interference. The baseplate is engineered with a high-integrity grounding scheme and EMI shielding to maintain deterministic communication performance in high-interference process control environments.
Field-side integration is facilitated via dedicated connectors on the baseplate, allowing for direct link-ups with external termination assemblies. As a passive hardware component, the P0926JMA minimizes internal thermal load within the enclosure, as it contains no active switching electronics that generate heat.
