The FCM10EF module converts 2 Mbps signals used by the FBMs to 10 Mbps fiber optic Ethernet signals for use with fiber optic cabling, and vice versa. The module features a compact design and a rugged extruded aluminum exterior, providing physical protection for the circuits.
Enclosures designed for mounting the FBMs and FCMs offer various levels of environmental protection, allowing the FCM10EF modules to operate in harsh environments in accordance with ISA Standard S71.04. The module can be removed or replaced from the baseplate without removing power, facilitating maintenance and system upgrades.
Six LED indicators on the front of the FCM10EF show the status of network activity to and from the associated FBMs, as well as the module's operational status, providing clear visual feedback for system monitoring.
