The Allen Bradley 1746-HS is an IMC 110 Motion Control Module designed for SLC 500 systems. This module features 24V DC inputs and outputs with a backplane current of 300 mA at 5V DC and 104 mA at 24V DC. With an input frequency of 300 kHz and a 4.8 millisecond update time, it delivers a step response of 100 milliseconds for input and 2.5 milliseconds for output.
The module requires one slot for installation in an SLC 500 system chassis and is compatible with all SLC processors except SLC 5/01 and SLC 5/02 models. Depending on application requirements for incremental, absolute, or speed moves, the 1746-HS offers programmable functionality.
Development System & Communication
The 1746-HS Motion Control Module utilizes an Offline Development System (ODS) that enables users to create, edit, and document Adjustable Machine Parameters (AMP) and Motion Management Language (MML) files using a compatible computer. For communication, it employs an RS-485 port for direct downloading of AMP and MML files, and supports project restoration for backup purposes.
The module continuously uses I/O updates to keep the SLC processor informed of its operational status. For optimal functionality, it should be positioned as close as possible to the SLC processor and is intended for use in clean, dry environments. Operating temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius with a 30g operating shock rating.
When you integrate the 1746-HS into your system, you're implementing more than just a motion card—you're deploying a comprehensive system engineered for high-level control and simplified troubleshooting. From converting handheld terminals into debugging tools to utilizing advanced Syntax-Directed Editors, here's how the ecosystem operates:
System Compatibility & Handheld Integration
The IMC 110 motion control system is compatible with all SLC 500 racks, whether modular or fixed. You can convert the SLC 500 handheld terminal to work with motion programs by entering a specific command sequence, transforming it into a handheld pendant. With a specialized keyboard overlay, the terminal becomes a tool for monitoring and debugging IMC 110 motion programs.
Programming & Development Tools
The system employs the powerful high-level Motion Management Language (MML) for programming. The Syntax-Directed Editor (SDE) provides pull-down menus and dialog boxes that streamline programming operations, along with online help to guide users through programming tasks.
With the Offline Development System (ODS), you can use a single system to specify parameters, create, edit, and document MML programs as well as Adjustable Machine Parameters (AMP).

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast is delivery?
As fast as the banking system. We dispatch your parts immediately once payment lands in our account.
Do you ship to my country?
Absolutely. While we don't have overseas branches, we ship globally every single day. If you have an address, we can get it there.
What is your role?
We are an independent trading company, not a manufacturer. We specialize in sourcing the best parts at the best prices.
What about technical support?
To keep our prices low and speed high, we focus 100% on supply chain and hardware. We don't offer installation support or system engineering.
Do I get the manual?
Yes, if available, we pack the datasheet/literature right in the box with your goods.
