The Emerson A6560 Machinery Health Processor serves as the core component of the AMS 6500 Machinery Health Monitor, delivering field-based predictive intelligence for industrial rotating equipment. This advanced processor enables real-time overall vibration monitoring and configurable machinery health analysis to maintain optimal equipment performance.
The A6560 provides real-time overall vibration measurements and configurable machinery health monitoring capabilities. The enhanced A6560-T variant includes all standard A6560 functionality plus an optional onboard transient processor specifically designed for turbomachinery applications, offering deeper insights into machine behavior during transient operating conditions.
While the real-time overall vibration monitor offers quick status checks for all rotating machinery, the predictive machinery health processor performs comprehensive analysis on two channels simultaneously to diagnose deteriorating machine conditions. Waveform, spectrum, and analysis parameters are computed directly in the field. Event-based adaptive monitoring adjusts in real-time to provide customized monitoring for your specific machines and changing process conditions. Results are transmitted from the field to the control system or AMS Machinery Manager software for further analysis and storage.

The transient option of the Machinery Health Monitor features three parallel processors. The overall vibration monitor and Machinery Health Monitor of the A6560 are standard in the A6560-T, while the A6560-T additionally includes transient monitoring for turbomachinery. The transient processor monitors in real time and records continuous time waveforms simultaneously on all 24 channels. Over 100 hours of continuous time waveforms across all channels can be simultaneously buffered, permanently stored, auto-extracted, viewed live, or replayed.
Transient Processor Capabilities
Buffering
For each channel, a non-stop, continuous time waveform recording occurs and is buffered for over 100 hours by the monitor. Users can demand waveform slices by selecting time periods or quickly scan data to search for anomalies.
Storage
Users can extract waveform data from the field monitor buffer, or the monitor can be pre-programmed to automatically archive 1-hour data slices based on events. Events such as high vibration, machine speed changes, triggering inputs or output relays can be programmed to trigger auto-archiving that permanently stores data to a network hard drive.
Live Viewing
The transient processor enables direct connection using AMS Machinery Manager to view 11 plots in real-time: orbits, shaft centerline, cascade, waterfall, Bode, Nyquist, waveform, spectrum, overall vibration, DC position, and speed. Users can filter orbits, change resolution, and select individual sensors or entire machine trains for viewing.
Replay
If events are missed in live mode, replay sessions can be commanded. The replay displays the same 11 plots as if being viewed live, simulating data replay from a monitoring system data recorder.
