The PR 9268 family measures absolute vibration on machinery casings and supplies a vibration-velocity signal to the associated monitoring or protection equipment.
A failed transducer can interrupt the vibration-monitoring chain and may affect machinery protection or contribute to an operational shutdown.
Emerson specifies resistance, insulation-resistance and signal-generation checks for fault analysis. Approximately 1875 Ω indicates an intact transducer circuit; 0 Ω indicates a short circuit, while infinite resistance indicates an interruption.
