The FBM204 I/O Interface Module is a high-precision analog interface device designed for industrial automation applications. It provides four 0-20 mA DC analog input channels and four 0-20 mA DC analog output channels, supporting seamless integration of field sensors and actuators into the I/A Series control system.
Each input channel can accept signals from standard 4-20 mA transmitters or self-powered 20 mA sources, while each output channel drives external loads with accurate 0-20 mA analog signals. All input and output channels are galvanically isolated, ensuring signal integrity and minimizing interference across channels and ground.
The FBM204 performs the essential signal conversion required to interface electrical signals from field devices to the optionally redundant fieldbus network. It executes the Analog I/O application program, offering configurable options such as conversion time, fail-safe behavior (Hold/Fallback), and analog output fail-safe fallback data on a per-channel basis.
For fast control loop applications, the module can alternatively run the Distributed PIDA (DPIDA) program, enabling high-speed local control. The module is also electrically compatible with standard HART signals, making it suitable for hybrid analog-digital control environments.
Compact and robust, the FBM204 features a channel-isolated I/O architecture housed in a durable form factor measuring 10.5 * 10 * 4 cm and weighing 0.3 kg.
