MEASUREMENT PRINCIPLE / 01
See Shaft Motion Without Contact
The PR6426 sensing head creates a high-frequency electromagnetic field toward a conductive target. Shaft movement changes the eddy-current interaction, and the matched CON021/916-160 converts that change into a conditioned voltage for monitoring and protection.
Measurement uses: radial shaft vibration, axial position, relative displacement, eccentricity and other large-gap rotating-machinery duties.

01 Can PR6426/010-000 operate without CON021/916-160?
No. The probe requires a compatible converter to excite the sensing coil and condition the displacement signal.
02 Does every CON021 for PR6426 provide the same range?
No. The suffix defines the calibrated range. The 916-160 execution is the 16.0 mm extended-range version.
03 Can the existing monitor scaling remain unchanged after replacement?
Only when range, output selection, target material, cable arrangement and installed gap match the previous measuring chain.
04 Why does target material matter?
Eddy-current response depends on electrical conductivity and magnetic properties. Calibration for one shaft material cannot be assumed for another.
05 What should accompany a compatibility request?
Provide both complete model codes, installed cable arrangement, target material, initial gap, output range, monitor model, channel scaling, quantity and delivery date.
