EMERSON
AMS 6500 Machinery Health Monitor · Rotating Machinery Protection
The Emerson A6220 is a shaft eccentricity monitor for large sleeve-bearing rotating machines. It uses a non-contact displacement sensor to measure shaft movement associated with shaft bowing or a bent shaft, including at speeds below 600 rpm. Configurable alarm setpoints support machinery protection and early identification of abnormal mechanical conditions.

Proportional voltage outputs: 0–10 VDC per channel.
Standard reference: API 670 machinery protection monitor.
Buffered outputs: Front and rear buffered outputs are provided for the measured signals. The rear buffered outputs support AC and DC signals, with a stated frequency range of 0 Hz to 16 kHz (-3 dB).
Current outputs: The rear current-mode outputs provide 0/4–20 mA proportional to the main value. The specified permissible load is less than 500 Ω, with ±1% of full-scale accuracy and configurable settling time from 0 to 10 seconds.
Voltage outputs: Rear voltage-mode outputs provide 0–10 VDC proportional to the main value. The stated permissible load is greater than 10 kΩ. The DC gap-voltage output is also specified as 0–10 VDC with ±1% of range accuracy.
Alarm settings: Alert and Danger setpoints are adjustable from 5% to 100% of full scale, with 1% full-scale resolution and 0–20% hysteresis on decreasing signal values.
Alarm delay: Selectable 0–5 second delays per channel; delays up to 36 seconds are available when used with the A6740 relay card. Alarm behavior can be configured for normally open or normally closed operation and channel-not-OK blocking.
Self-checking: The module monitors hardware, power input, hardware temperature, sensor and cable conditions.
Physical dimensions: PCB/Eurocard format, 100 × 160 mm; width 30.0 mm, height 128.4 mm and length 160.0 mm. Confirm rack and enclosure requirements before ordering.
Typical applications:
Maintenance teams may search for the A6220 when shaft eccentricity alarms occur, monitoring channels report abnormal conditions, or an existing module needs replacement. Loss of reliable monitoring can reduce visibility into shaft condition and delay protective response, increasing the risk of equipment damage and unplanned downtime.
Before ordering, match the A6220 part number against the installed module and confirm the AMS 6500 rack arrangement, sensor type, wiring, output requirements and alarm configuration. The A6220 and A6620 perform different functions and should not be treated as interchangeable. Confirm the complete system configuration before selecting an alternative.
For the Emerson A6220 datasheet PDF, request the applicable product documentation when additional installation or configuration details are required.
Products receive a part-number and visible-condition check before dispatch, with protective packaging selected for transport. For DOA or return requests, contact sales with the order details and supporting photos for assessment before returning the item. Warranty duration, coverage and exclusions are confirmed with the quotation; coverage follows the agreed terms and does not automatically include OEM warranty or third-party system repairs.
For spare-part sourcing, order enquiries and shipment coordination, contact Miya Zheng. Include your equipment details to help identify the correct part.
The A6220 is a two-channel shaft eccentricity vibration monitor for the AMS 6500 Machinery Health Monitor platform. It supports monitoring and protection of critical rotating machinery.
Compatible sensor part numbers listed for this model include 6422, 6423, 6424 and 6425. Confirm the installed probe and complete sensor system before ordering.
Confirm the exact model, AMS 6500 rack, available slot, sensor arrangement, wiring and required outputs. Check the installed system configuration before removing or installing a module.
No interchangeability should be assumed. The A6220 is a shaft eccentricity vibration monitor, while the A6620 is a process input monitor. Verify the required function and part number before purchase.
