System Role
MEASUREMENT CHAINThe 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer system consists of a proximity probe, extension cable and Proximitor Sensor. It provides an output voltage proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static position and dynamic vibration.
Bently Nevada specifies the system for vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Installation & Connection
FIELD NOTES- The 1.0 m system configuration does not use an extension cable.
- 3300 XL gold ClickLoc connectors are tightened finger-tight; the connector clicks when properly tightened and requires no special installation or removal tools.
- Maintain the specified minimum cable bend radius during installation.
- Connector protectors are recommended by Bently Nevada for increased environmental protection.
Confirm the installed probe configuration and mounting arrangement before replacement. Cable routing and connector installation should follow the applicable Bently Nevada installation documentation.
System Compatibility
REPLACEMENT CHECKBently Nevada states that 3300 XL 8 mm components are electrically and physically interchangeable with non-XL 3300 5 mm and 8 mm components when the minimum permissible cable bend radius is observed.
Mixed-system limitation
When XL and non-XL 3300-series 5 mm or 8 mm components are mixed, system performance is limited to the specifications of the non-XL 3300 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system.
