ABB SPBRC300 Harmony Bridge Controller – HR Series
ABB SPBRC300 is a Harmony Rack (HR Series) Bridge Controller used in ABB Ability™ Symphony® Plus control systems. ABB identifies the SPBRC300 as one of the HR Series BRC controllers, together with the SPBRC400 and SPBRC410. The HR Series was developed to support existing Harmony control investments while providing compatibility with multiple generations of Harmony and related I/O systems.

Original Compatibility
ABB places SPBRC300 within the HR Series Harmony Rack controller family. The HR Series supports HR Series I/O together with previous rack generations, SD Series I/O, Block I/O and S800 I/O.
Historical Replacement
ABB's lifecycle documentation states that the earlier P-HC-BRC300 and P-HC-BRC400 Harmony Rack alternatives moved to Limited status in January 2015, with a form/fit/function replacement relationship to the newer HR Series controllers. ABB also recommends evolution from older MFP, MFC, AMM, LMM and COM controller families to BRC300 / BRC400 / BRC410, subject to the appropriate I/O processing modules and control-logic consolidation requirements.
This should be understood as an ABB-documented historical replacement/evolution path, not as a statement that every older controller can be directly exchanged with SPBRC300 without checking the existing system configuration.
