T9300 1–3 I/O Modules SIL 1–SIL 3 ArchitectureThe ICS Triplex T9300 is the three-way I/O base unit for the ICS Triplex AADvance safety controller. Its passive backplane provides the electrical connections between up to three I/O modules, their associated termination assemblies and the T9100 processor base unit. It distributes system power together with the command and response buses. The T9300 is not a processor module and does not contain application firmware.

System Connection
A T9300 connects directly to the right side of the T9100 processor base or another T9300 through the side plug-and-socket connection. A T9310-02 backplane expansion cable is used when the I/O arrangement continues on another row. T9100 and T9310-02 are related system components, not substitutes for T9300.
Applications
The manufacturer identifies AADvance as a scalable safety instrumented system for SIL 1 to SIL 3. T9300 is used in certified AADvance architectures for safety instrumented systems, emergency shutdown, fire and gas protection, and other high-integrity critical control applications. Safety integrity depends on the complete certified architecture, approved hardware revisions, configuration and validation.
Lifecycle, Replacement and Compatibility
The manufacturer has not published a T9300 discontinuation notice or final production date in the official material reviewed. The product is therefore not described here as discontinued.
No separate replacement catalog number has been published. The correct like-for-like replacement is a compatible-revision T9300.
The AADvance 1.041 hardware compatibility matrix identifies T9300 revision D as current hardware and revisions B and C as functionally identical. Revision A is listed as not compatible with that release. Before replacement, verify the installed controller release, approved hardware revision, I/O arrangement, mechanical installation and site safety validation requirements.
T8442C, T8448C, T8451C, T8461C, T8480C and other T8xxx modules belong to the Trusted platform. The manufacturer does not identify them as direct replacements for the AADvance T9300. Moving between Trusted and AADvance requires an engineered system migration and cannot be treated as a plug-in replacement.
