The A6500-UM Universal Measurement Card is a key component of the AMS 6500 ATG machinery protection system. It features two sensor input channels that can operate independently or in combination, depending on the chosen measurement mode. The card supports most common sensor types, including eddy-current, piezoelectric (accelerometer or velometer), seismic (electro-dynamic), LF (low-frequency bearing vibration), Hall-effect, LVDT (with A6500-LC), and dynamic pressure sensors. In addition, it includes five digital inputs and six digital outputs, allowing flexible integration with various monitoring and control setups.
Measured signals from the A6500-UM are transmitted through the internal RS-485 bus to the A6500-CC Com Card, where they are converted to Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP protocols for further communication with host computers or analysis systems. The Com Card also provides a USB connection on the front panel for PC or laptop access, enabling card configuration and real-time visualization of measurement results.
In addition to digital communication, the A6500-UM can output measurement results via 0/4-20 mA analog outputs, which share a common ground and are electrically isolated from the system supply. The card is installed and operates within the A6500-xR System Rack, which handles power supply connections and signal routing, providing a fully integrated solution for machinery monitoring and protection.
