The ABB NETA-01 Ethernet Adapter Module is an optional device designed for browser-based remote monitoring of ABB drives via Ethernet. It enables network connectivity for multiple drives, allowing up to nine units to be connected through a DDCS Branching Unit (NDBU-85/95) or configured in a ring topology.
Through the use of the NETA-01 Ethernet Adapter Module, it is possible to monitor the drive by reading and adjusting drive parameter values, reading status information and actual values, and setting up and monitoring the data logger either numerically or graphically. Logged data can be saved to a file, fault log contents can be read and cleared, and e-mail messages (maximum nine) can be sent on events. The module also supports continuous monitoring via e-mail and data acquisition from the drive and process using a Modbus TCP server.
In addition to monitoring functions, the NETA-01 Ethernet Adapter Module allows control of the drive. Control commands such as Start, Stop, and Run Enable can be issued, motor speed or torque references can be fed to the drive, and drive faults can be reset. The adapter module is mounted on a standard mounting rail either inside or outside the drive unit, depending on the drive type and configuration.

- Ethernet Connection: Connect the network cable to the RJ45 connector on the NETA-01 module. The connector is internally terminated. Add a ferrite core to the PC end to reduce EMC disturbances from power cables.
- Power Supply Connection: Connect a 24 V DC power supply to the connector on the lower side of the module. Power can come from the drive's internal supply or a separate external supply.
- Drive Connection: Connect the module to the drive using a fibre optic cable. Check drive documentation for the correct terminals. Multiple drives can be connected via the NDBU-85/95 DDCS Branching Unit or in ring topology. Configure drives via the module's web interface.
- ACS800 Channels: Connect channels CH0 and CH3. CH0 is for fieldbus control and monitoring. CH3 is for monitoring and debugging.
