Product Overview

Extension Cable for Proximity Transducer Systems

330130-080-01-05 is a Bently Nevada 3300 XL standard extension cable. It forms the connection between the proximity probe and the Proximitor Sensor in the 3300 XL 8 mm transducer system.

The armored construction is the defining cable option in this configuration. The cable is selected as part of a complete measurement system, so its electrical length must be considered together with the probe and Proximitor Sensor.

Additional Environmental and System Installation Data

Standard cable temperature: −52°C to +177°C (−62°F to +350°F), as specified for the standard cable in the system datasheet.

Field wiring reference: 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG). The datasheet recommends three-conductor shielded triad cable and tinned field wiring.

Monitor wiring distance: Maximum 305 m (1,000 ft) between the 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor and the monitor. Longer field wiring can cause high-frequency signal roll-off.

Connector handling: Two 3300 XL gold ClickLoc connectors are tightened finger tight. The datasheet specifies a different procedure when mating a non-XL stainless-steel connector with an XL connector.

Temperature note: The standard cable temperature rating above should not be confused with the extended-temperature 330190 cable family.

04
System Integration

Where the Extension Cable Fits

3300 XL 8 mm Probe Senses the distance to the conductive machine target.
330130 Extension Cable Connects the probe assembly to the Proximitor Sensor.
3300 XL Proximitor Sensor Conditions the proximity signal for the monitoring system.
The 3300 XL 8 mm transducer system is used for static position and dynamic vibration measurement on fluid-film bearing machines. The system also supports Keyphasor reference and speed measurement applications when configured for those functions.
05
Application & Maintenance

Application and Failure Scenarios

This cable is part of the proximity measurement chain used on rotating machinery. Maintenance teams may search for a replacement when the cable assembly or its connector path is damaged, or when a monitoring channel becomes unreliable.

01
Rotating machinery vibration monitoring

Used within 3300 XL 8 mm systems measuring shaft vibration and position on machines with fluid-film bearings.

02
Damaged cable or connector assembly

Physical damage, connector problems or a disrupted cable path can interrupt the signal between the probe and Proximitor Sensor.

03
Unstable or unavailable measurement channel

If the extension cable path is compromised, the affected proximity measurement may become unreliable or unavailable, reducing the monitoring information available to operators.

Maintenance impact: Loss of a proximity measurement can leave the associated shaft vibration or position channel without valid input. Confirm the cable and connector path before returning the monitoring point to service.
06
Installation & Compatibility

System Length and Replacement Checks

Total Electrical Length Probe length plus extension cable length must equal the Proximitor Sensor system length.
Connector Interface Check the installed probe-side and sensor-side connector arrangement.
Approval Requirements Confirm the approvals required for the installation location and complete system.
Observe the specified minimum cable bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in). Before replacement, compare the full cable part number, existing cable routing, probe length and Proximitor Sensor system length. Do not select a cable based on physical length alone.

Product FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is this cable intended for the 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer system?
Yes. It is listed as a 3300 XL standard extension cable and is used as the cable component between the proximity probe and Proximitor Sensor.
2. What does the 080 option specify?
The 080 cable-length option specifies an 8.0 m (26.2 ft) extension cable.
3. What is the difference between the 01 and 05 options?
The 01 option identifies armored cable construction. The 05 option identifies the CSA, ATEX and IECEx approval option.
4. How should the cable length be matched to the Proximitor Sensor?
The probe length and extension cable length, when added together, must equal the Proximitor Sensor total system length.
5. What should be checked before replacing an installed cable?
Check the complete part number, cable length, armored construction, connector arrangement, approval requirements and the total electrical length of the installed transducer system.
