Required software. ABB states compatibility with System 800xA 6.0.3.2, Compact Control Builder 6.0.0-2 and later releases.
Network integration. PROFIBUS DP devices can connect directly. ABB also identifies LD 800P as the linking device for supported PROFIBUS PA connections. The bus must be terminated at its two outermost nodes; powered terminating connectors are required for a working termination.
Confirmed migration relationship. ABB lifecycle documentation identifies CI854BK01 as the replacement for CI854AK01. Treat the exchange as an engineered migration: verify the software baseline, hardware definition and redundancy arrangement before the outage.

Line redundancy uses the two PROFIBUS ports; master redundancy uses two communication interfaces and can be combined with controller/CEX-Bus redundancy where engineered.
Check bus termination, connector power, cable continuity and traffic LEDs before replacing the interface.
Review primary and dual-mode indicators and the Control Builder configuration. A hardware swap does not correct an inconsistent redundancy definition.
Compare configured baud rate, segment length/topology, repeater use and node count with the commissioned design.
