HART Input Overview

ABB AI815 accepts supported current or voltage signals as one group of eight inputs isolated from ground. The complete module is configured for one signal family; current and voltage cannot be mixed. For transmitter loops, it distributes and supervises an external HART-compatible supply with per-channel current limiting.

ABB lists AI815 in S800 remote I/O for Freelance and identifies HART pass-through as a configuration and diagnostic benefit of the S800 arrangement.

The reviewed ABB sources do not name a direct replacement. Do not substitute AI810 or another eight-channel analog module without checking ranges, HART pass-through, transmitter-power distribution, diagnostics and MTU keying.
