The T8850C Field Termination Assembly (FTA) is the dedicated physical interconnect for the Trusted™ TMR system, specifically designed to pair with T8450 24Vdc digital output modules. It functions as a 40-channel high-density interface, routing command signals from the triple-voted output logic to field-side solenoids, actuators, and relays. The board architecture manages the transition from the I/O module's high-speed backplane to the terminal blocks, ensuring that the redundant logic path of the Trusted platform is maintained without introducing a single point of failure in the termination path.
Electrically, this assembly manages the 24Vdc power distribution required for field-side excitation. It incorporates individual channel fusing to prevent a field-side short circuit or overcurrent event from pulling down the entire output group power rail. This localized isolation is critical in a TMR environment where electrical faults must be contained to prevent propagation back to the processor or adjacent I/O channels. The PCB trace design is rated for continuous current loads and is built to withstand inductive kickback from heavy-duty valve solenoids without degrading the signal integrity of the system.
