GE IC698ETM001 Ethernet Interface Module
The IC698ETM001 module is part of the PACSystem RX7i Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) platform, enabling any rack with this module to connect to an existing Ethernet network. It allows data exchange with other controllers, remote I/O implementation, and communication with visualization systems as well as 3rd party software and tools such as databases and enterprise applications. This makes it a versatile solution for integrating PAC racks into broader automation and IT systems.
The module features two Ethernet ports, both capable of 10/100 Mbps communication with auto-sensing capability, and designed for physical connection using RJ45 connectors and CAT5 cable. These ports support daisy chaining, allowing linear, star, and ring topologies, and also support unique or redundant IP addressing. In addition, it has one 9-pin serial communication port, primarily used as a Station Manager port for configuration, supporting transmission speeds from 1200 to 115200 bps. The IC698ETM001 supports various communication protocols, including TCP/IP services with SRTP, SRTP client, MODBUS TCP Server, and MODBUS TCP Client, as well as time synchronization to an SNTP server over the Ethernet network.
The IC698ETM001 is equipped with a range of LED indicators including MODULE OK, LAN ONLINE, STATUS, 100 LINK P1, and 100 LINK P2 to provide an overview of the module's status. It has a dedicated 200 MHz microprocessor, enabling high-speed processing and station management. The module supports redundant IP addressing, direct connection to network hubs without external transceivers, flash memory storage, and easy upgrades via the CPU serial port. Designed to meet global electrical and environmental standards, the IC698ETM001 also includes diagnostic tools to assist operators in monitoring and maintaining system performance.
