The Allen-Bradley 1305-BA03A is an Adjustable Frequency AC drive, also known as a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Variable Speed Drive (VSD), Frequency Inverter, or simply an inverter. This industrial equipment connects to AC motors to control rotation speed, torque, implement protective start-up and shutdown sequences, and reduce power consumption.
Motor Control Capabilities
The 1305-BA03A provides comprehensive motor control functionality. Basic operations include START/STOP, FORWARD/REVERSE/JOG, and REMOTE/MANUAL operation. For advanced control, this drive supports Standard Boost V/Hz, Standard Volts/Hz, and Custom Volts/Hz control methods, making it ideal for precise speed control applications. Motor protection features include configurable Accel/Decel Time, Ramp to Stop, and S-Curve Acceleration parameters.

Installation Procedure
Step 1: Power Down the Drive
Ensure all power is removed from the drive before proceeding.
Step 2: Open the Lower Panel
Lower the hinged panel located beneath the HIM or the blank front panel.
Step 3: If a Blank Front Panel Is Installed
Slide the panel downward and remove it from the drive. Proceed directly to Step 5.
Step 4: If a HIM Is Installed
Press the retaining lever located directly beneath the HIM, then slide the HIM downward to remove it from the drive.
Step 5: Remove the Front Cover
Grasp the upper corners of the drive front cover and pull outward at a 90-degree angle. Lift the cover off to access the terminal blocks.
