STG740 Buyer FAQ
Why is STG740 alone insufficient for replacement?
The complete selection string defines protocol, process connection, materials, display, housing and approvals. Those choices can change installation suitability.		 When can high turndown become a poor choice?
If the calibrated span is extremely small relative to the capsule range, installation effects and process conditions may dominate practical accuracy.
Why must wetted material be checked?
Process chemistry and temperature determine corrosion compatibility. A mechanically matching transmitter can still be unsuitable if the diaphragm alloy differs.		 Can a HART unit directly replace a DE unit?
Not automatically. Verify control-system input compatibility, loop power, communication method, configuration tools and fail-state behavior.
What installation detail most often shifts the zero?
Mounting position, impulse-line head, remote-seal elevation and trapped gas or liquid can introduce a static offset that must be considered during setup.
