The probe picks up shaft movement, and the 330780-50-CN conditions that signal before sending it to the Bently Nevada 3500 system. After that, a 3500/42M Proximitor Monitor or 3500/40M Proximity Monitor handles the data for API 670 machinery protection system applications on turbines, compressors, and similar rotating machines.
I'd start with the simple things. Loose connectors, damaged extension cables, or the wrong probe gap cause this more often than a failed sensor. If the reading stays close to -22 Vdc, it's often an open circuit. Around 0 to -2 Vdc is usually related to a short circuit or missing power from the monitor. A quick wiring inspection solves plenty of commissioning issues.
