Is integrated line-monitoring available for short-circuit (S/C) and open-loop detection?
Correct. Board-level sensing monitors load continuity. Faults are flagged and relayed via the internal HIQUAD backplane to the central processor for immediate alarm annunciation.
Is the logic side galvanically isolated from the 24VDC field outputs?
Yes. Opto-coupler separation provides a robust dielectric barrier. This prevents field-generated transients and EMI from migrating to the sensitive logic-side bus.
Does the module support live "hot-swap" extraction in active racks?
Yes. Redundant configurations allow for live replacement. Note: In Simplex SIF (Safety Instrumented Functions), pulling the module will break the loop and trigger an immediate trip.
Is external suppression mandatory for inductive solenoid valve loads?
Highly recommended. While internal clamping is present, external freewheeling diodes are advised to mitigate back-EMF and prevent premature degradation of the output transistors' MTBF.
Do front-panel LEDs differentiate between internal processor errors and field faults?
Yes. The red "ERR" LED indicates internal logic or WD timeout. Channel-specific LEDs flash for line-monitoring faults (open/short) and stay solid for active output states.
