The TC-308-02-2M5 functions as a high-integrity interconnection for ICS Triplex "Trusted" systems, specifically facilitating the "Smart Slot" output redundancy protocol. This jumper cable establishes the deterministic signal path required for Fault-Tolerant (TMR) architectures, ensuring zero-latency failover during active module swap-outs or logic arbitration. It is a critical component for maintaining continuous loop integrity in SIL-3 rated safety instrumented systems (SIS) where mid-process signal interruption is non-permissible.
Constructed with a 2M5 (2.5-meter) linear span, the assembly utilizes an industrial-grade, abrasion-resistant braided shield optimized for high-transient electromagnetic environments. This shielding architecture is engineered to suppress RF-crosstalk and mitigate signal attenuation, preserving the millivolt-level precision of output commands across the distributed control plane. The cable's impedance-matched internal conductors are specified to prevent data reflection, ensuring high-speed bus stability in proximity to high-power inductive machinery.
In addition to output jumper cabling, the ICS Triplex architecture relies on the TC-308-0X Communications Cable Type to support deterministic communication paths between modules and system interfaces.
Primary Function
Provides I/O connection between a faulty Trusted Digital Output module (40 channel) and the I/O module in the SmartSlot of a Trusted Controller or Expander Chassis.
