Product Description
The 1784-KTx and 1784-KTxD cards are designed for communication and remote I/O scanning across Data Highway networks.
Supported Networks
- Data Highway Networks: Communicate with PLC-2® and PLC-3® nodes
- Data Highway Plus Networks: Communicate with PLC-5® and SLC 5/01, 5/02, 5/03, and 5/04 processors (via 1784-KA5 for SLC 5/01-5/03)
- DH-485 Networks: Communicate with SLC™ processors
Functionality
- Remote I/O Scanning: Both 1784-KTx and 1784-KTS can act as remote I/O scanners. The 1784-KTS performs scanner functions only
- Data Transmission & Management (KTx): Handles data transmission, network management, and local network diagnostics. Interfaces with the host processor through board-resident dual-port memory
- Channel Limitations (KTxD): The 1784-KTxD card has two channels. Important: It cannot be used to directly bridge two networks
Installation Steps
You'll need a 1784-CP12 cable and a 1784-CP7 adapter. Follow these simple steps:
- Plug into the Card: Connect the 3-pin Phoenix end of the CP12 cable to the KTx card
- Hook up the Adapter: Connect the 9-pin D-shell end of the CP12 cable to the CP7 adapter
- Connect to the PLC-5: Plug the CP7 adapter into the front connector on the enhanced PLC-5 processor
