The FCM10E Fieldbus Communications Module is a communications interface that allows DIN rail-mounted Fieldbus Modules (FBMs) to connect with I/A Series control stations via the high-speed, optionally redundant 10 Mbps Ethernet trunk Fieldbus. The FCM10E converts the 10 Mbps Ethernet signals from the control station to the 2 Mbps signals used by the FBMs, and vice versa. It also provides galvanic isolation between the Ethernet trunk Fieldbus and the 2 Mbps module Fieldbus for added protection.
FCM10E modules are typically used in pairs for redundancy. A single FCM10E—or a pair of modules—can support up to 30 FBMs, while up to 30 pairs of FCM10E modules can be connected to the Ethernet trunk Fieldbus, providing flexible and scalable network connectivity.
The modules feature a compact, rugged design with an extruded aluminum exterior that protects the circuits. Specialized enclosures designed for DIN rail-mounted FBM equipment offer varying levels of environmental protection, allowing the FCM10E modules to operate even in harsh environments, in compliance with ISA Standard S71.04.
The FCM10E is designed to snap right onto a baseplate, giving you total flexibility in your installation approach.

Easy Maintenance: The FCM10E is hot-removable. Leave the power on, leave the cables alone, just swap the unit without system shutdown.
