The 3500/20 125744-02 Rack Interface Module (RIM) serves as the primary communication orchestrator and configuration repository for the Bently Nevada 3500 machinery protection environment. Positioned within the rack's dedicated interface slot, this hardware functions as the gateway between the internal backplane bus and external diagnostic platforms.
The module is responsible for persistent storage of the rack's configuration hierarchy, utilizing non-volatile memory to maintain monitor setpoints and channel parameters during power-cycling events, while simultaneously managing the global "OK" status relay logic across the entire chassis.
The 125744-02 revision is engineered to facilitate high-speed data acquisition for the Data Manager interface, supporting the extraction of both static and transient data required by System 1 software. This module manages deterministic prioritization of backplane traffic, ensuring complex diagnostic waveforms—such as orbit plots and spectral data—are transmitted to external hosts without compromising protective logic execution.
