The Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe is a premium, non-contact eddy current sensor engineered for precise vibration, position, and speed measurements on fluid-film bearing machinery. It delivers an output voltage directly proportional to the static or dynamic distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive target. Fully compliant with the American Petroleum Institute's API 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability, this system offers maximum protection for critical industrial assets.
Amikon delivers premium industrial automation spare parts—principally PLC, DCS, and TSI systems—to over 160 countries across major global regions:
When the DMM sits around the reference point (roughly -9 Vdc), that’s generally the sweet spot — around 1.27 mm / 50 mils gap. At that stage, the M10x1 thread proximity probe Bently Nevada is locked with the dual nuts and left in place.
But in real plant work, mixing new probe + old electronics usually means the system performance follows the weaker side — things like accuracy and stability won’t fully match API 670 levels anymore.
Most common setups:
This keeps the eddy current transducer impedance balanced in the Bently Nevada 3500 rack module system.
In critical steam turbine rotor vibration or compressor cases, engineers sometimes do recalibration or apply correction curves for more accurate non-contact shaft displacement data.
A healthy 330103 proximity probe usually sits around 7.45 ohm (± small tolerance).
In both cases, it’s basically a replacement situation, especially in machinery protection system (MPS) or ESD critical asset protection setups.
