330104-00-05-10-02-00 basically is a Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8mm eddy current proximity probe. Used for shaft vibration, axial position, eccentricity… sometimes speed / Keyphasor depending on setup. Non-contact type, sits close to the shaft in turbines or compressors. Common in machinery protection systems, nothing fancy in use, just stable signal for rotating equipment.
Breakdown is pretty straightforward:
330104: 8mm probe, M10×1 thread
00: no unthreaded length
05: 50 mm case
10: ~1.0 m length
02: ClickLoc connector, armored cable
00: standard version, no hazardous area approval
Each section is physical spec. In field replacement, all suffix must match, otherwise usually doesn’t fit or system side mismatch.
Range is 2.0 mm (80 mil) with 3300 XL Proximitor. Sensitivity 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil), output 50 Ω. Bias around -9 Vdc, roughly 1.27 mm gap point. Factory calibration on AISI 4140 steel. If shaft material changes, normally need to check scale factor on site, not always plug-and-play.
Used on steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, turboexpanders, big fans. Power plant, oil & gas, petrochemical… typical heavy rotating machines. API 670 compliant setup, usually part of protection / ESD monitoring loop.
This probe alone can’t run, always part of 3300 XL system.
