Bently Nevada 330525-10 Velomitor XA Sensor with 316L Stainless Steel IP65/NEMA 4X Rating for Hazardous Areas

The Velomitor XA (eXtended Application) Sensor is a ruggedized version of Bently Nevada's 330500 Velomitor Sensor. Its 316L stainless steel case and unique, weatherproof connector and cable assembly permit mounting without a housing. The Velomitor XA Sensor cable assembly is suitable for use in moist environments, and the Velomitor XA Sensor design meets the requirements of IP-65 and NEMA 4X dust ratings when properly installed with a mating extension cable.

• Hazardous Areas: In hazardous locations, the “-10” version is the one used. It’s approved for Class I, Division 2 in North America, so you’ll see it in chemical plants or oil & gas type facilities where safety classification matters.
• Corrosive Locations: Also fits corrosive environments like chemical plants, offshore platforms, wastewater treatment sites. Salt spray, chemicals in the air—over time that kind of environment destroys normal sensors, but this one is made to hold up better.
• Balance and Alignment Verification: And then there’s vibration analysis work like balance and alignment checks. Using velocity data to spot issues like misalignment, looseness, or imbalance in rotating equipment. Usually these problems show up early in vibration trends before anything breaks down.
