The Yokogawa SDV531-L63 S4 Output Module represents the latest revision with significant improvements over previous S2 and S3 versions. Pulse Testing: Solving False Open Load Detection
To meet SIL3 ESD (Emergency Shutdown) requirements, the SDV531-L63 module performs Diagnostic Pulse Testing to verify drivers aren't "stuck-on." This involves briefly dropping the 24V output for less than a millisecond—sufficient for circuit status verification without activating connected solenoids.
