The Bently Nevada 1900/65A (P/N 172323-01) is a standalone, four-channel vibration and two-channel temperature (RTD/TC) monitor optimized for BoP (Balance of Plant) assets. This hardware leverages a 24-bit A/D conversion architecture to ingest raw signals from accelerometers, Velomitors, or proximity sensors. By consolidating high-resolution signal conditioning into a DIN-rail mountable footprint, it serves as a decentralized alternative to 3500-series racks. The unit's core functionality centers on continuous data acquisition and deterministic processing of machinery health parameters without relying on an external plant controller.
Autonomous Protection & Localized Control
Protection logic within the 172323-01 is managed via an onboard engine that executes setpoint-driven Alert and Danger excursions. The module integrates programmable relays supporting user-defined voting logic—including AND/OR gating and latching/non-latching configurations—to provide fail-safe hardware interlocks. Critically, the monitor includes analog buffered outputs for each vibration channel, allowing field engineers to interface portable diagnostic analyzers without interrupting the primary protection loop. This localized intelligence ensures machinery shutdown paths remain active even if the supervisory DCS communication fails.
