What is the procedure for a "Hot Swap" of the T9431 in a live system?
The T9431 is fully hot-swappable. Because it is part of a TMR architecture, the redundant companion modules (if in a dual-slotted configuration) or the voting logic at the controller level maintain the process variable during the swap. The module features "Active" and "Healthy" front-panel LEDs; once the new module is inserted, it performs a self-test and synchronizes its internal state with the active controller before taking over its share of the input voting.
How does the module handle internal calibration and drift?
The T9431 features an onboard auto-calibration routine. The three internal sub-channels are continuously compared against each other and against internal high-precision reference voltages. If one sub-channel drifts beyond the calibrated tolerance, the module flags a "Medium" severity fault, alerting maintenance while continuing to provide a voted, accurate output using the remaining two healthy slices.
What are the power consumption and isolation characteristics?
Logic power is drawn from the Trusted™ backplane (Smart Bus), typically consuming around 20W depending on channel loading. Galvanic isolation is maintained between the field-side signals and the internal logic bus up to 500V DC. This isolation prevents field-side electrical surges or ground loops from propagating to the main TMR processor.

Absolutely. The T9431, as part of the Trusted™ TMR family, is TUV certified for use in Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3) applications.
