The IS220PSFDH1A functions as a high-performance Flame Detector I/O pack and power supply interface within the GE Mark VIe Speedtronic™ control framework. It is specifically engineered to provide the high-voltage excitation--nominally 335 VDC--required for Geiger-Muller (G-M) type flame sensors utilized in gas turbine combustion monitoring.
Beyond simple power distribution, the module facilitates advanced signal conditioning by digitizing the pulse rate from UV-flame sensors and translating intensity data into standardized logic. This rapid processing is critical for real-time flame-out detection and the maintenance of combustion stability across variable load conditions.
Reliability & Diagnostics
Reliability in high-availability environments is anchored by the module's compatibility with Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) architectures. The PSFDH1A operates off a standard +28 VDC control rail, utilizing onboard galvanic isolation to shield the sensitive backplane logic from field-side transients and ground loops.
Integrated diagnostics continuously poll the "State of Health" (SOH) of the high-voltage output, with internal fault-detection logic calibrated to alert the ToolboxST™ management suite to any deviations in excitation voltage or sensor-line impedance.
