GE IC698CHS117 17-Slot Rear Mount Rack
Engineered for high-throughput PACSystems RX7i logic, the IC698CHS117 leverages a VME64 backplane to quadruple standard VME bandwidth, effectively slashing data latency across its 18-slot architecture. This wall-mounted chassis facilitates a seamless hardware migration path, hosting RX7i CPUs and modules alongside legacy Series 90-70 I/O and standard VME components. By adopting automated slot-sensing, the backplane eliminates legacy jumper/DIP-switch dependencies, delegating all I/O mapping and module identification to the CIMPLICITY Machine Edition graphical environment for streamlined system commissioning.
System Compatibility & Installation Overview
The RX7i rack supports the full range of RX7i CPU and I/O configurations and is compatible with Series 90™-70 I/O modules as well as standard VME modules.
Backplane connectors are arranged on 0.8 in (20.3 mm) centers, enabling installation of:
- Single-width RX7i modules
- VME modules
- Single-width Series 90-70 modules
Double-width Series 90-70 modules occupy two adjacent slots.
Integration of VME modules shall comply with the guidelines specified in RX7i User's Guide to Integration of VME Modules (GFK-2235). RX7i racks are classified as open equipment and must be installed within a protective enclosure rated IP54 or higher.
